Detroit State Representative Isaac Robinson died late last night. The Detroit Free Press reported that complications from the COVID-19 Illness is suspected to have been a factor in Robinson’s death.
President Donald Trump has extended his ambitions of having the country “open for business by Easter Sunday” and extends the national guidelines for social distancing.
President Trump has also approved Governor Whitmer’s request for National Guard assistance. The National Guard will be sending around 3,000 troops to distribute food, help run mobile screening facilities and disinfect public spaces, according to a statement made by the National Guard.
Next week, the City of Detroit will receive 5,000 rapid-testing kits that can detect COVID-19 in a patient within 15 minutes. The announcement came from Mayor Mike Duggan who worked with Illinois-based Abbott Laboratories.
Through a partnership with GE Healthcare, Ford Motor Co. has announced that it plans to produce 50,000 ventilators for treatment of COVID-19.

The case counts for every city in Wayne County, excluding Detroit.
Michigan has reported a total of 6,498 cases of COVID-19. Wayne County has reported 213 new cases outside of Detroit since yesterday, bringing the total to 2,965 cases. 12 new deaths from the virus have also been reported since yesterday.
The total new cases for a few cities are as follows:
- Dearborn: 18 new cases for a total of 90.
- Dearborn Heights: 14 new cases for a total of 73.
- Detroit: No data for 3/30/20
- Grosse Point Communities: no new cases for a total of 38.
- Hamtramck: six new case for a total of 20.
- Highland Park: four new cases for a total of 31.
- Taylor: 13 new cases for a total of 105.
