Demand for automotive service technicians remains at critical levels
in Michigan and nationwide
The Mopar Career Automotive Program (CAP) expands automotive service curriculum offerings to Henry Ford College in Dearborn – helping to combat dealer demand for trained automotive technicians around the US.
- According to National Automotive Dealers Association, the auto industry requires roughly 76,000 new technicians annually to cover retirements and new job openings, yet only about 39,000 students graduate from training programs, leaving an annual shortfall of ~37,000 techs
- Stellantis is supporting both the dealer body and future automotive technicians through the Mopar CAP training program to address the talent shortage
- Henry Ford College becomes the fifth institution in Michigan — and 96th nationally — to offer certified technical training curriculum in the US.
