Henry Ford College is hosting a university transfer advising session for pre-education majors and other interested students on Friday, Oct. 18. Seven educational institutions are scheduled to attend.

Sept. 12, 2019, Dearborn, Mich. – Henry Ford College will host a pre-education university transfer advising session on Friday, Oct. 18, from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. in the Rosenau Rooms on the first floor of the Andrew A. Mazzara Administrative Services & Conference Center (ASCC) (Bldg. L on the main campus).

This session will assist HFC pre-education students with transfer options and help them decide which 4-year college or university is best for them and their career aspirations after they graduate from HFC.

Participating universities at the Fall 2019 university pre-education transfer advising session:

Alma College
Saginaw Valley State University
Eastern Michigan University
Madonna University
Siena Heights University
University of Michigan – Dearborn
Wayne State University

While students may transfer to any of these universities or any other university, it is notable that HFC hosts a University Center with SHU and Madonna on the third floor of HFC’s Welcome Center (Building WC) on the main campus. The University Center allows HFC students to complete their associate degree at HFC and then complete their bachelor’s degree from SHU or Madonna while remaining on HFC’s campus.

Some of the benefits of HFC’s partnerships with SHU and Madonna:

Undergraduate and graduate classes are offered on-site at HFC
Evening, weekend, and hybrid classes
Personalized advising
Transfer-friendly policies and guarantees

Students attending the pre-education university transfer advising session should dress professionally and should bring a copy of their transcript(s) – official or unofficial. They should also bring nine 3×5 index cards that contain their name, contact information (phone number, email address, home address), and area(s) of educational interest.

This event is free and open to anyone interested in pre-education. For questions or further information, contact Dr. Patricia Lanzon, HFC pre-education director and education professor, at 313-317-1532 or planzon@hfcc.edu.
