$23 million has been invested in Detroit student learning equipment during the pandemic. Because a large portion of Detroit’s students don’t have access to devices or to an internet connection, this massive investment may be necessary to keep Detroit’s students on track with the rest of the state.

Henry Ford Hospital has joined Beaumont Health System in furloughing employees. Henry Ford will be laying off around 2,800 employees due to financial difficulties related to the COVID-19 Economic fallout.

Michigan Legislature has is working toward an effort to oversee Gov. Whitmer’s response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Conservative groups criticize the Governor for what they see as an overreaction to the pandemic that could have damaging consequences for the State of Michigan’s Economic Growth.

Michigan has reported a total of 35,291 cases of COVID-19. The state of Michigan also has seen 2,977 deaths related to COVID-19 complications. Wayne County reports 449 new cases of COVID-19. The total number of COVID-19 cases for Wayne County is 15,091.
