Plans have begun to solidify for the TCF Center, as 900 beds will be outfitted within the convention hall. Macomb County is also exploring possible sites for field hospitals. According to some sources, they may need 2,000 beds. Macomb County is the third hardest hit county behind Wayne and Oakland Counties.

The leading expert in infectious diseases, Dr. Anthony Fauci said in an interview that he predicts millions of cases to spread across the United States. Dr. Fauci also predicts that more than 100,000 people may lose their life due to complications from COVID-19.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer has made orders to restore water to every home for the duration of the Coronavirus Outbreak.

As a result of Governor Whitmer requesting an emergency declaration through FEMA, around 100,000 N95 masks will be sent to Michigan hospitals.

Michigan has reported a total of 5,488 cases of COVID-19. Wayne County has reported 440 new cases since yesterday, bringing the total to 2,764 cases. 4 new deaths from the virus have also been reported since yesterday.

The total new cases for a few cities are as follows:

  • Dearborn: 20 new cases for a total of 72.
  • Dearborn Heights: 10 new cases for a total of 59.
  • Detroit: 167 new cases for a total of 1,544.
  • Grosse Point Communities: three new cases for a total of 38.
  • Hamtramck: six new case for a total of 15.
  • Highland Park: nine new cases for a total of 27.
  • Taylor: 10 new cases for a total of 91.
