Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson has been admitted to a hospital in London. Al Jazeera reports that this is for tests.

US Surgeon General Jerome Adams says in a press conference that the coming days will be the “hardest and saddest week” for pandemic response. Dr. Fauci also states that the American people should buckle down and that the virus probably won’t be eradicated this year.

Michigan’s State Legislators are conflicted over whether to extend Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s emergency powers after she initially requested an extension of 70 days. Members of the Republican Party are looking to extend her emergency powers for 23 days instead.

Michigan has reported a total of 15,718 cases of COVID-19. The state of Michigan also has seen 540 deaths related to COVID-19 complications. Wayne County reports 744 new cases of COVID-19 with 301 deaths. The total number of COVID-19 cases for Wayne County is 7,599.
