Since many hospitals around Wayne County have reported an overflow of patients being treated for COVID-19, a former hospital in Lincoln Park could open as soon as Friday of this week. The site would be able to support dozens of patients.

Approximately 22,000 surgical masks that were shipped to the University of Michigan Health Center were unusable, the Health Center Reports. The surgical masks were shipped from a national stockpile.

Michigan has reported a total of 27,001 cases of COVID-19. The state of Michigan also has seen 1,768 deaths related to COVID-19 complications. Wayne County reports 449 new cases of COVID-19 with 819 deaths. The total number of COVID-19 cases for Wayne County is 12,113.
