Henry Ford College Presidential Candidates narrowed to five finalists

DEARBORN, Mich. –  The Henry Ford College Board of Trustees has announced the five finalists for the presidency of the College. They are (in alphabetical order):

  • Mr. Russell A. Kavalhuna, Executive Director, Western Michigan University College of Aviation, Kalamazoo, MI;
  • Dr. Michael Nealon, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Henry Ford College;
  • Dr. Christopher M. Reber, President, Community College of Beaver County, Monaca, PA;
  • Dr. Casandra E. Ulbrich, Vice President, College Advancement and Community Relations,
    Macomb Community College, Warren, MI; and
  • Mr. Thomas D. Watkins, Jr., President and CEO, Detroit Wayne County Mental Health Authority (retired)

Public Forums

In March, the five finalists will be on campus to participate in public forums for students, faculty, staff, and the general public. Participants will be able to submit questions to the finalists through cards provided at the forums. There will be a form on the Presidential Search website for feedback on the finalists.

Board of Trustees Public Interviews

The Board will interview the five finalists March 26-28. These interviews will be public meetings. The schedule is as follows:

Monday, March 26, starting at 5:00 p.m.: The Board will interview two finalists for 90 minutes each.

Tuesday, March 27, starting at 5:00 p.m.: The Board will interview two finalists for 90 minutes each.

Wednesday, March 28, starting at 5:00 p.m: The Board will interview one finalist for 90 minutes.

After a short recess, the Board will deliberate on the finalists. The Board will subsequently conduct contract negotiations, and will make an official public announcement once that process is completed.
