Whitmer\u2019s stay-at-home order will be up to them. This statement comes during a fight between Gov. Whitmer\u2019s administration and Republican Lawmakers about whether Michigan\u2019s economy should be reopened.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Places of Public Accommodation\u2019 such as bars, restaurants, movie theaters and gyms will remain closed until after May 28, according to a new order that will extend the shutdown of many Michigan businesses. Although public health experts say that this is essential to maintain the health of Michigan, many believe that the economy should be reopened sooner.<\/p>\n<p>This morning, President Donald Trump posted a tweet saying that Gov. Whitmer should try to make a deal with protesters. The protesters, some of whom were photographed brandishing assault rifles outside of the Governor\u2019s Office, were protesting the stay-home order.<\/p>\n<p>Michigan has reported a total of 42,356 cases of COVID-19. The state of Michigan also has seen 3,866 deaths related to COVID-19 complications. Wayne County reports 283 new cases of COVID-19.
