{"id":1896,"date":"2018-11-16T22:51:12","date_gmt":"2018-11-16T19:51:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/yemeniamerican.com\/en\/?p=1896"},"modified":"2018-11-16T22:56:09","modified_gmt":"2018-11-16T19:56:09","slug":"taylor-favorite-malek-al-kabob-headed-to-dearborn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yemeniamerican.com\/en\/taylor-favorite-malek-al-kabob-headed-to-dearborn\/","title":{"rendered":"Taylor Favorite Malek Al-Kabob Headed to Dearborn"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>By Elizabeth Clark<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>The Yemeni American News<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1900 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/yemeniamerican.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/mo-300x191.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"191\" srcset=\"https:\/\/yemeniamerican.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/mo-300x191.jpg 300w, https:\/\/yemeniamerican.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/mo.jpg 688w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>One of the most beloved Middle Eastern restaurants in the Metro Detroit area is expanding from its home base in Taylor.<br \/>\nMalek Al-Kabob will open a second location in Dearborn, in the heart of west downtown Dearborn, at 22065 Michigan Avenue, at the site of the former Post Bar.<br \/>\nThe Dearborn establishment will be located next to the Dearborn Wig shop, doors down from Wagner Place, the brand new Ford Motor Company-sponsored development complex.<br \/>\n\u201cA friend of mine, who has been a customer for 12 years, came to me and told me he had something for me,\u201d said Mo Obeid, whose family owns Malek Al-Kabob.<br \/>\nObeid went with his friend, and he liked the location, and he greenlit the project. \u201cI jumped on it,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s really exciting in that area.\u201d<br \/>\nObeid says the look of the place will be \u201cMiddle Eastern modern,\u201d and will incorporate fresh, contemporary looks in an elevated dining experience.<br \/>\nHe also says, \u201cWe will still be serving the great food, but with a new image for Malek Al-Kabob. New logos, menus, new training, and new construction.\u201d<br \/>\nOnce the Dearborn location is up and running, Obeid says the Taylor location will get a face lift as well.<br \/>\n\u201cMalek is one of my favorite Mediterranean restaurants,\u201d says longtime regular and Taylor resident Janie Salazar. \u201cI had it twice this week!\u201d<br \/>\nCustomers rely on Malek Al-Kabob for its fresh, standard Middle Eastern fare. \u201cOur food is really delicious,\u201d says Obeid. \u201cIt is prepared by owners and the chefs with over 35 years of experience.\u201d<br \/>\nKnown for their shawarma sandwiches, garlic sauce, and well, kabobs, Malek Al-Kabob appeals to the masses.<br \/>\n\u201cTheir lentil soup is to die for!\u201d said Salazar. \u201cTheir grilled chicken is always tender and their salads are always fresh.\u201d<br \/>\nMalek Al-Kabob first opened in 2006 by founding chefs Abu-Fahd and Abu-Snan.
