Michigan State University has announced that they will be allowing students to return to campus in the fall semester of the 2020-21 school year. At the beginning of the pandemic, Michigan State University was the first college to suspend in-person classes over fears that the students could spread the virus more easily.

Former Mayor of Detroit, Kwame Kilpatrick will not be released from federal prison, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. A small nonprofit called the Ebony Foundation falsely said last week that the former mayor, who’s serving 28 years on public corruption charges, would be released.

Michigan has reported a total of 55,608 cases of COVID-19. The state of Michigan also has seen 5,334 deaths related to COVID-19 complications. Wayne County reports more than 71 new cases of COVID-19. The total number of COVID-19 cases for Wayne County is 20,134.
