Fitness classes for people 16 years old and up, along with group classes are available.
Abdulmalik Algahaim is the President of the Board of Education for Hamtramck Public Schools.
“Although most of our school buildings are closed during the summer months, Hamtramck Public Schools remains deeply committed to offering a diverse array of programs and activities that foster engagement, learning, and personal growth for our students and community,” he says.
Kids can sign up for the summer playground program, which ends August 7th. There is also an upcoming movie in the park, showing Transformers One showing August 15 at Pulaski Park.
Algahaim says it’s important for kids to stay engaged during the summer.
“We encourage all families to participate in these enriching summer opportunities, thoughtfully designed to keep students active, intellectually engaged, and socially connected. Information on specific events, schedules, and registration is available on our district website or by contacting the Recreation Department,” he shares.
Senior citizens can participate in fitness classes, and trips such as going on a cruise on the Detroit River on August 9.
