Hamtramck Public Schools is offering an online enrollment registration option for families who wish to put their kids in the school district.
Abdulmalik Algahaim, President of the Board of Education for Hamtramck Public Schools, says this will help streamline the registration process for families.
“Our goal is to simplify the registration process and give families more flexibility,” he said.
Algahaim said the new process will create more flexible options for people to enroll students.
“By moving enrollment online, we cut down on paperwork, boost accuracy, and help ensure every student is set up for success from day one,” he said.
Algahaim said the process also reduces time for staff and families to enroll.
To get started, people can visit the online website to pre-enroll, select “start a new pre-enrollment,” and enter their email address along with a new password.
Parents can visit the Hamtramck Public Schools Pupil Services Department, located at 9324 Conant Ave., Hamtramck, Michigan, to pick up an enrollment packet.
People will need a parent or guardian’s photo I.D., one proof of residency including utility bills within 30 days of registration, student’s birth certificate, immunization records, report cards. For students enrolling in preschool, the student must be 4-years-old as of December 1, 2025, and parents must provide proof of income to register in the program.
Students who are 5-years-old by September 1, 2025 should register for kindergarten.
To register in person, visit 3924 Conant Street, Hamtramck, Michigan.
