DEARBORN, MI – December 19, 2025 – The Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services (ACCESS) fed over 2,000 community members in need Thursday during its annual Holiday Food Distribution at the ACCESS Community Health and Research Center (CHRC) in Dearborn. The drive-up event provided 500 boxes of food to families, making sure families had nourishing meals and felt the support of their community during the holidays.

With the help of local volunteers, each box included non-perishable items, fresh halal poultry and bread. While ACCESS covered all costs, the organization expressed deep gratitude to community partners who offered discounted pricing, including Doctors Without Borders/Friends of MSF-UM Dearborn, UM-Dearborn’s Pre-Professional Health Society, UD Mercy Dental School, Everfresh Fruit Market, Saad Meats and Yasmeen Bakery. The Dearborn Police Department assisted with traffic control to keep the event safe and organized.

“At ACCESS, our mission is grounded in our dignity, shared responsibility, and deep care for our community,” said ACCESS CEO Maha Freij. “Supporting families during the holidays is one expression of our broader commitment to build a community that is powered for generations to come.”

The Holiday Food Distribution was more than just providing food, it was a moment for the community to connect, for volunteers to give back, and for families to feel supported when it matters most. ACCESS continues to provide essential resources year-round, from health and human services to education and economic empowerment, helping vulnerable members of the community thrive.
