The presidential search process at Henry Ford College ended with the appointment of Russell Kavalhuna as the 6th president for the college. The appointment came after an intensive 6-month national search. The Board of Education interviewed and reviewed five finalists for the job and chose Kavalhuna in a 6-1 majority vote.

Mr. Kavalhuna used to be the Executive Director of Flight Operations at Western Michigan University. He is a former airline captain, a licensed attorney, and a former federal prosecutor.

Based on the candidates’ interviews, the new president comes at a time where the college is facing multiple issues such as dropping enrollment and needing new revenue streams. The Yemeni American News sends its wishes to HFC’s newest President.
